Intro - 0.00 to 0.16 The intro of the song which features the echoing "ahh ehh ahh ehh" sound would soundtrack the start of the party and on each different note, more and more people would enter the screen (wide shot), where the lead male would be centered looking almost out of place.
Verse 1 - 0.16 to 0.52 The first verse would see the lead male making his way around the party talking to various people. This would be filmed via a series of over the shoulder shots, where you can always see the protagonist but never the face of who he is talking to. Instead of the lead actually miming conversation, he will mime the lyrics (which will continue to be the case for the majority of the video). After the first verse there is a small instrumental section, this would be when an unknown is reluctantly dragging the lead up stairs. So a point of view shot of the 'unknown' would work well here.
Chorus - 0.53 to 1.20 During the chorus the protagonist is back in the main party setting, however he is sitting down is a glum state, obviously regretting his actions upstairs. Simultaneously the rest of the party is dancing away under strobe lighting, without a care in the world. This acts as a juxtaposition to the main character's feelings at this point. He then walks towards a kitchen, but before he reaches it a television catches his eye; showing a distorted video of a young child trapped in a closet watching two people have sex. This gives the sense of voyeurism, and also links to the fact that doubt is reported to come from a bad childhood experience. Therefore it is insinuated that this is a video of the young protagonist.
Verse 2 - 1.21 to 1.56 After the chorus there is an instrumental intro into the second verse. Here the viewer would be taken back to just after the lead was dragged upstairs and be shown the inside of a bedroom, and clothes and a condom being thrown on the floor, again adding to the sense of voyeurism, making it clear exactly what happened upstairs. Additionally the fact that we have gone back in time indicates that the video is not ordered and fragmented. Which will be the case for the remainder of the video. Verse two will be exactly the same as verse one; the protagonist going around talking to more people.
Instrumental - 1.57 to 2.08 Here there is another small instrumental section and this will show the lead making his way downstairs, and you can see the 'doubt' in his facial expression.
Chorus 2 - 2.09 to 2.36 This would then pick up where we left off as the lead was making his way into the kitchen. He then goes to pour himself a drink, however in the state that he is in, spills it, and then draws a question mark with his finger into the spilt puddle. He then makes his way to the tap and splashes himself with water, and makes his way back through the strobe party into the hallway, building up to the climax.
Bridge - 2.37 to 3.33 This will show someone else walking down the stairs opposite the front door; where the protagonist is situated. However only their feet will be shown keeping them unknown. There is then a small silence in the song; here the lead will look back at the person on the stairs and then open the front door. The song then drops into a frenzy, the lead will then run for his life out the door and down the street. The 'unknown' (still not visible) shortly follows, and it becomes a chase.
Chorus 3 - 3.34 to 4.00 This will be a fast paced montage of the night, along with some otter random images.
Ending - 4.01 to 4.06 When the music stops the montage will end and there will be the last shot, which will show the lead and the 'unknown' hugging.
This gives us a good outline, of how the story will unfold for when we get down to filming. It is only a rough plan, therefore there may be some minor changes. For instance, the setting we choose may dictate some room changes for scenes, consequently changing what happens.
